Yes as the title shows this is going to be a short review on the Hotwheels 09 premiere 5 Alarm.
I muat say that red could not have been redder than the 5 alarm. Its a fire engine no doubt which has been pimped up with "extras" or it could just be the fire engine of the future. But whatever it is, its a nice fire truck.
The nice tampos and shiny chrome parts goes well with this particular model. However the ladder does not extend neither does it stay raised as the connections are quite loose. It does not raise up more than this in the picture(I would asy about 20-25 degrees maximum). Once the ladder is raised, it exposes more details like a concealed fan underneath it.
All in all what I like about this truck are the bright red color, nice tampos, the size.
What I don't like about it are the weight(too light) and the ladder that does neither extends nor able to raise up higher than preferred.

Initially I wanted to get only this, the EVO X
Alamanda Putrjaya Carrefour
But ended getting all these
Color Shifters are too cool man, I can't say no to just one. Anyway in my office, it changed color because my office is really cold. So you don't have to splash water on it for it to change color. It changed color along with the drop of temperature. Very cool.
Put in my freezer for 5 minutes......its actually darker but the flash from my camera makes it look brighter.
Jusco Equine Park
I then proceeded on to Jusco to have a look at their Rm3.90 hotwheels. As usual their racks are close to 100% full but with replenished never seen before cars compared to previously during my last visit here. Managed to snag what I thought were the coolest looking cars plus a gold 350z which was a bonus since I could not find one for the longest time last year and I started collecting hotwheels only last year.
From this visit, I also know that the lady working in Jusco who is not in the toy department here is actually an insider because I had a chat with her. Luckily I got there early as another lady who works in the toy department had just placed the new price tag on the hotwheels and hung it up on the rack. Long story eh.....but I tell you that lady I had a chat with sure knows alot about hotwheels......well you meet loads of interesting characters during hunts I guess.....

Yeah, I am actually camping outside this place, remember to say hi if you ever comeby here, I amright outside the main entrance near the fountains.....kidding
MPH bookstore- Well they had the box on the floor. Thought it would be the new match box wave, but as it turns out, its the previous wave. But managed to find these. I like it...

Alamanda Putrajaya-Carrefour is about the only place that has restocked so far the new wave. They have restocked about 2 boxes and the racks are about 50% full. Not many new 09 cards are left as well. Other places such as parkson remains unchanged. Cold storage also held a surprise, a DK THUNT and a FASTBACK. I don't see any evidence that Cold storage has restocked another box. But there are 6 vw orange beetle which means they have restocked 3 boxes, the same ones as last time. However a single DK and a single fastback indicates that the person doing the restock must have just hung it on the rack. Where are the other two...hmmmmm, will it be hung out on the rack tommorow, the day after that...but I believe there are still 2 more DK somewhere in Cold storage.....patience is the key and luck...hehe. You wanna try your luck, well you can go to Cold Storage
Incidentally after the last few hunts, I have now managed to complete the volkwagen series for 08.....yay something achieved...haha

Just when you think Carrefour Alamanda would not restock, they did. If you look back a few blog entries ago, I wrote that this was a ghost town for hotwheels, well not anymore. Carrefour Alamanda Putrajaya have restocked. Its the, some have speculated, qombee super or none at all wave much like the previous DK super or none at all wave. Alright so now we know what to expect. They only restocked 1 box from the looks of it because the quiantity on the racks are not that many. However, there are plenty of Fresh Metal diecast cars and I also have seen this in other carrefours taking over the space of what previously was occupied by hotwheels or matchbox. Is Carrefour moving towards more fresh metal and lesser of everything else?
On another note, On the way back to my wife's "kampung", stopped at the Store Tampin and found this.
RM3.90, I think the price is kinda cheap and there was only one sitting on the shlef. I thought I saw this line of cars once before and the price was above RM10. Oh well just grabbed it and this is my first BMW...haha
Well thats all for now.

I have been watching others haul the new wave while in my own area in the south side of Selangor, not much sign of the new wave is going to hit anytime soon. Anyway I decided to go up to KL and PJ for a look, perhaps I may still have a chance to look at an actual 09 card before I die of hotwheels withdrawal...haha. Anyway here is my hunting report.
Jaya Jusco Taman Maluri - Being one of the first few places to have been reported having this new wave, I went there in the morning to have a look see. There were about 90% full of 07-08 cars on one face of the dispaly there and on the other face of the display rack, there were just a few 09 cards plus some new wave cars which are like 10% full but I managed to get my hands on some cars from 09 at last...haha. I got the Matchbox taxi because it looked cute. Matchbox too have not much selection left.
C4 Sri Petaling - Just 3 words, nothing nothing nothing. There enough said. Lots of other cars from the Drift King wave though. But to me its nothing.
Isetan Midvalley - Then due to reports from a forummer I decided to go to Isetan (the gardens) to have a look and there were color shifters there, so I got one viper color changer cause its pricey at RM16.90. Perhaps I will also get the humvee and the evox but none in sight. On the hotwheels racks, there were alot more choices to be had than in ,maluri, 80% stocked but barren of chase cars, but I managed to get some cars still which I liked. I saw the matchbox rack and it is still 90% full of cars. There are many cars still of course void of the few that everyone is looking for like the ctr, viper and mazda. The rest look good but I did not get any because I just wanto concerntrate more on Hotwheels and a few matchbox cars. Ok here is a story to tell, when I was looking at the rack, 2 sales assistant approached me but since I look quite garang and old, they dare not approach me...haha. They kept looking at me. Anyway they left. And the baja bug was a trade I made with another forumer. Thanks(you know who you are).
On another note, I have managed to get my self the honda civic limited by Tomica. I have been searching for this car for some time and at last obtained it through a forummer from Lowyat. So with this I have completed the 3 most desired tomica limited of 2008 which are the EVO X, HONDAC CIVIC and NISSAN GTR. Another chapter closed since the Honda civic tomica limited "fiasco".
Well thats it for now.

Here is my report
C4 Alamanda - its a hw and mb ghostown. Single cards hw total about half a dozen only. Not worth your time. Could be caused by a dispute concerning payment between C4 and Mattel that was mentioned by someone before.
Parkson Alamanda - DK wave on the racks but very few cars left, Probabaly 40% left on the racks, No fastback or DK in sight. This parkson don't sell mb.
Cold Storage Alamanda - DK wave sighted, Restocked 2 boxes, at first, no orange beetle, no vw fastback were sighted, but after looking intently at the racks, managed to notice a hidden stash of vw fastbacks and beetle behind other toys just beside the racks. So grabbed 2 fastbacks and left the beetles. But the 2 DKs are no where in sight. Oh well, I always knew this Cold storage was a bit suspect....hmmmph. This Cold Storage don't sell mb.
Then off I went. Passed by Sri Petaling and went to The STORE
- DK wave sighted, just restocked(the last restock was in october 2008 and it was the funny car wave) 1 box of hw, 1 DK and 1 Fastback sighted at the racks. Left the DK and took the fastback price here is still RM5.90 each. The fastback had a chipped tampo. Error??? hehe :) . No mb in this place.
THERE WERE NO NEW CARDS OR NEW HW OR MB WAVES SIGHTED IN THESE PLACES. PERHAPS IN A LATER TIME THERE WILL BE. SO BE PATIENT.
So thats my report for today.

Giant Kajang - no new wave for hw and mb, old dk wave about 70% full on racks and no restock yet.

Just recieved a package from sinclair, another forummer, thanks for the cars. A short card matchbox Shelby GT500 and a Grey nissan 350Z grey color.
TESCO KAJANG JUST RESTOCKED, 2 THUNTS DK AND 2 FASTBACK AND MANY MORE STILL ON THE RACKS!! IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA, GO NOW. I was there at 2pm today.
A few days ago, I traded with a fellow forummer, kurz, my thunt funny car for his first edition Honda Civic and Corvette C6R.
(eh gundam inside??)
(ah thats more like it)
I love this civic particlularly the civic sticker at the back windshield which is lacking in the 2008 civics.
As for the Corvette, its a beauty and will be staying in my stable of diecast cars for some time..
So thanks kurz for the trade and hope to trade with you more in the future.

What is he willing to trade or pay for it????haha
I was at Jusco Cheras Selatan today for lunch and decided to pop in for a little while to the toy section to have a quick "hunt". I went to the hotwheels section and scored nothing. There were no new wave and although the rack is reasonably fully packed, the cars are from the mustang thunt 4 stripe wave. A month or so ago, these same rack contained the drift king wave, why are they reverting back to the older mustang wave? Very Dissapointing to say the least. I asked the sales boy there about new stocks and he answered that, they have not come in yet and also said that it would probably come at the end of February. Ok thats good news, let us see whether what he said is true or not. We can only tell when the time comes. Anyway went to the nearby matchbox section and spotted the subaru police car on the front of the rack. Searched a little bit more and managed to find another. Matchbox in Jusco Cheras Selatan have just restocked.
Alright I am done or so I thought but as I was turning to go, the corner of my eye caught the blue Enzo from the 08 Exotics car series wrongly put on the matchbox rack so I thought I would grab that as well for old times sake....haha.
So that is my report of my hunting today. No green, no new stocks, no new wave for hotwheels in this part of the hunting ground.

At first I did not realize that the Austin Healey was actually a 2008 Hotwheels production car. I was a bit surprised since it did not come in any wave that has hit Malaysia. And then I remebered the Promo Packs and that the Austin Healey was in those packs.
Somehow they must have taken out the cars from the promo packs and started selling it as normal single cards again.
On the way back this Morning, we stopped at a Tesco and two 7-11 and I managed to score some more, most notably the matchbox mustang concept which I thought was cool and blows the thunt mustang gt hotwheels out of the water with its detail. Anyway thats all for now.
