Classic Packard - 2010 THUNT

The first Thunt of 2010 being offered here in Malaysia is the Classic Packard. This car comes in blue with a black top and has a hefty metalbase as well. It was a surprise and delight to see Mattel listening to our request for good distribution of the waves and within December, we have seen the first wave of 2010 cars flooding the WHOLE of Malaysia. Maybe now we will not miss any waves in Malaysia as we did. Anyway let the pictures do the talking.

On another note managed to finish collecting my 2009 super thunt before the year ended. Thanks to all friends and fellow collectors who helped me complete the remaining 4 that I was missing. :) Now to concerntrate on 2010 super thunt.

Old Carded cars Rule

This is probably one of the older carded car that I have, a 2004 card, which I have recently ripped open due to curiosity and the need to see this car without its plastic prison in the way. Anyway this is the Anglia Panel from the Ashphalt Jungle series. Isn't it awesome looking. Anyway let the pictures do the talking.

Tomica Limited: Nissan Z

Lets look at the tomica limited nissan z. Chilly red, rubber wheels, suspensions, openable doors, and neatly placed tampos, (plus 20 over ringgit per car), you cannot complain much but instead praise the wonderfully made car by tomica. Some may say its overpriced but I say you get what you pay for. Anyway let the pics do the talking.

2010 Thunt Wave is in town Part 2

Well been away and busy as of lat and did not manage to hunt for a week but I felt like I deserve a little breather since I got lucky with these 2 babies. Some call them "ugly" babies and I must agree because its rather dull overall except the wheels. But here is the start of my 2010 super thunt collection and I feel its a good start despite the "curse" by certain quarters :) hehe.


Well after looking at others' haul on the super classic packard, the difference on the card is not as obvious as previoius years as they are set apart by the $ sign. But after getting my own and upon closer inspection, the dollar signs do exist on the 'S' of the word TREA$URE HUNT$. Anyway a close up picture will explin clealrly what I mean.

A very Cool Back Slider 2010

I reckon one of the surprises of 2010 is this backslider. Nice look, practical moving slider and proportionately sized to carry even the longest cars in the hotwheels series.

As you can see I have used the buick 2008 thunt, one of the longer cars out there and there is still a few mm to spare...haha. Now that is practical especially there are longer cars in the hotwheels world. A very cool casting. Keep it up mattel. This design is a keeper.

Hotwheels Motorcycles

Another Mattel offering, a new line called Hotwheels motorcycles. Nice and cute, well detailed and colorful with a rider for each bike, is what I can describe from closeup observation. However for diecast fans, these will probably not be on your shopping list as it is made up entirely out of plastic. However, its definitley a nice collection if you wish to collect and dish out RM13.90 for each bike. This was spotted in Carrefour.

2010 Thunt wave is in town PART 1

Known as the "delorean" wave by some, because of the many dead boxes found without thunt, this wave comes with an assortment of choice cars such as the delorean, scirocco, ford gt and so on. The thunt if you are lucky enough to find it is the classic packard, which looks very much belonging in the same era as the earlier Ford 32 thunt of 09. This John Dillinger type classic car is quite nice with some minor tampo patterns at the hood which I will show later. Anyway let the pics do the talking.

Lancia Stratos Mystery Car

Got this some time ago froma forummer as a free gift throug trades. Its relatively a smaller sized car compared to the other castings but in no way is it of lower quality and standards. Let the pictures do the talking.

2009 Regular Thunt Set Completed

This morning before lunch, went out to one of the local stores called Tesco and found this. Apparently they have restocked and I think its most Tescos have restocked today. Anyway with this find, it completes my 2009 thunt regular series.

7-11 Promotion Haul

Got these from the 7-11 promotion which started yesterday. Its trully great to have this promotion because you will tend to score nice cars unlike other normal times. The wave in this promo that I have encountered are the fire eater and Boneshaker wave. One thing interesting in this ppromo is that unlike previous promo, each 7-11 are given a full case and hence every 7-11 will have at least a regular thunt. Well here are some of the pics.

1966 VW Karmann Ghia

I have uncarded the VW Karmann Ghia from Maisto Custom Shop series. I just love the electric blue on the car with openable boot where the engine bay is, its stylish and elegant look. Superb as an addition for any collectors flotilla of diecast cars. Let the pics do the talking..
