SUPER FUNNY CAR

Photobucket
I found these the other day in one of the 7-elevens during their promotion week. As the lady was busy serving other customers, she left an opened box of hotwheels on the the floor which looked like she was just starting to arrange it on the shleves. This was on the first day of their promotion. So with a boyish girn, I asked her if I could have a look and she signaled with a nod 'yes'. So I just ransacked the whole box and at last came up with a super and a regular funnycar. Now this baby is probably the heaviest tresure hunt ever, heavier than the Plymouth roadrunner. Its Metallic brown in colour with Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt on bonnet & doors.

I am really pleased with the wheels of the super which has goodyear inprinted on it. Makes it one thunt super you must try to get.
Photobucket
The price is RM4.90 which is about US1.30. Great car and great tampos and worth every single ringgit you spend on it.

MORE CARARAMA

Photobucket
Introducing another Cararama exclusive, the Alfa Romeo Brera. Again for 5 Malaysian ringgit, I am simply blown away by the details of these cars. The wheels on this particular model are probably the best I have seen for this model lineup. The car's details itself are simply awesome. The body finishing is also excellent. Its proportions are really good, close to the real thing.

Now one of the things that surprised me the most about this car is the interior. As you take a peek from the roof of the car you can pretty much view clearly the interior dashboard of the car(I must add that the doors for these Cararama cars cannot open).
Photobucket
Now compare it to the real picture of the interior of the car below:
Photobucket
Really detailed for a 5 malaysian ringgit car. I simply love it. Anyway this car can be found in some TESCO stores as it is on promotion. I found mine at TESCO Kajang.
Lastly, I leave you with the picture of the car in real life.

Plymouth Roadrunner

Photobucket
I remembered telling myself "if only I could find a super thunt roadrunner", I would be happy even if I did not manage to find the other 11 super thunts. The reason is because I think among all the thunt lineup for 2008, its the best looking one in my opinion plus the color just suits the green thunt stripe on the card...haha. So somehwere in the middle of this year, Mattel started doing a promotion for their "Promo boxes" which has the Designer challenge cars plus four normal hotwheels cars, which makes a total of 5 altogether.
Photobucket

It was in these promo boxes that I managed to find my super plymouth not one but two. But it sure burns a hole in your pocket since the price for one is around 25 malaysian ringgit which is about US$7 per promo box. Its not that bad for one promo box but in the intial stages of the promotion where the only way for you to score a plymouth roadrunner thunt is in one of the promo boxes(in the Malaysian hotwheels market, there were no single card thunt plymouth provided by Mattel to be sold on the racks), the accumalated number of promo boxes bought just to get that thunt reaches to a place where it is ridiculous. Now even if I see a promo box with a thunt Plymouth inside, I will just give it a pass unless its a super. This sucks for me as a collector in Malaysia but hey I have to set a limit because of this.....

CARARAMA

Cararama has always surprised me with their above average quality budget model cars scaled at 1:43. The car I bought today is a Porsche 911 Carrera.
Photobucket
The paintjob is reasonably good plus the details are quite up to standard for such a budget car.
Their attentiont to detail to make it as close to the real thing is surprisingly good.
Photobucket
Photobucket

My favourite part of the car are the brake calipers which are yellow in this case. Check out the wheels on this model with the real thing.
Photobucket
Photobucket

Tesco is selling them right now at 5 ringgit per car which is about US$1.40 only. To me you can't go wrong with that kind of pricing. Other models include the new VW Beetle, Ford Focus, Land Rover, BMW ZR1 and a few more which I cannot recall. So go now to your nearest Tesco and get yourself a Cararama model car. Its totally worth it.

ERROR CARD

This is my first hotwheels Error card. I have a few Error cars but only one error card. Error cards are probably not that big a deal here in Asia. I find it a bigger deal in the states but I could be wrong.
Photobucket

However to add to the excitement, this error card comes with none other than a super T-hunt Hotbird. A super thunt hotbird on a super thunt dodge viper card. Yes you heard it right. Apparently someone said that it could fetch a good price after 10 years. I am not too sure about that, that guy could just be kidding. Anyway from what I can find on ebay, there are no super treasure hunt error cards that I can compare with to know roughly how much its worth. However selling it is not on my mind for now. I will just keep this as a hotwheels hunting souvenir....haha

SPECTOR a.k.a YOGA MASTER

I am sure that all of us have seen the model in this picture going by the name of Spector.
Photobucket

Its quite common actually and you can pretty much get it anywhere. At one glance, it looks like some kind of predator on wheels, like a puma or a panther. Lets take it out of the box shall we.

Photobucket

Looks kind of unique but boring but upon closer inspection it actually does a few poses.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Pretty flexible and posable as well. All in all I think its worth to have this model since it actually does a few tricks. Its not a must buy, but its interesting. Didn't know it could YOGA...haha. So what are you waiting for. I think its worth to get at least one spector in your collection.

CARBONATOR

Photobucket
That's the name given to this particular model. It is in the shape of a carbonated drink and hence the name. Many people I know are looking for this particular model since its debut in late November or middle of November 2008. The Malaysian hotwheels market is kinda slow but I manage to get a few. The reason for it being quite the chase item is because its uniquely useful. For beer drinkers like me and my friends, it comes in particularly handy as a bottle cap opener. But not only that, at the front end of the car, its a beer can opener as well.
Photobucket
So its quite the novelty car. Go get it now at some 7-11 stores that come with the funny car thunt wave. 7-11 stores in Malaysia are having a 1 month promotion which includes hotwheels cars. My verdict is the Carbonator is amust get model for a collector or the casual beer drinker...haha.

My first time blogging

Let me just say that, I am a first time blogger but since everyone is making their own blog or creating their own hobby site., and for passion for hotwheels/matchbox and tomica cars, I have decided to blog. This blog serves to inform and get people who read it a passion for hunting. The hunt is an addictive thing. If you go on a hunting spreee, its not just going to be one outlet or two but sometimes 5 to 10, or maybe more, in one go when a new wave of cars strike your area. I am going to be posting up pictures as I hunt so come share my experience as I blog about cars and hopefully my son too will get into it one day. He is 9 months old....haha
